Come See What You've Been Missing!

From the moment you arrive at The Wilds at Cedar Valley Golf Course, you will feel at home. This family owned and operated course is 18-holes, designed for every type of golfer. Whether you are just beginning to play or trying to perfect your game, looking to spend time with the family or simply seeking beautiful scenery in a relaxed atmosphere, The Wilds is the place for you!

It is hard to believe The Wilds at Cedar Valley Golf Course is so near the south-west Barrie city limits. The natural beauty and wildlife make it seem like you have traveled to cottage country, without the long drive. Golfers frequently share the course with deer, geese, ducks, wild turkey, and the resident porcupine, Henry.

This short par 3 begins the front nine with dual sand traps at the front- and back-left of the green; lining the fairway and green to the right is a tree line that is very tricky to play from. An accurate tee shot to the large green is key to start your day on a high.

Hole 2 is the longest hole on the course. A dogleg-right, a tall cluster of trees sit between you and the pin. The backside of the green can help catch your ball, but come in too high and your ball may find the creek.

This short par 3 may look harmless, but the cluster of trees on the right side contains a pond that claims shots that come too close.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful holes on the course, the par 3 hole 7 is nestled in the woods, carved out between two streams just within the tree lines. An accurate tee shot will help avoid frustration as you near the end of the front nine.

Hole 8 is a dogleg left par 4. Golfers can play conservatively by playing the fairway, or swing straight for the large green from the tee. Dense, unforgiving forest lines the left of the fairway, while water hazards lurk to the right.

Hole 9 is one of the jewels of The Wilds, and is also one of the most challenging greens on the course. Sloping from back-to-front, the large green is framed by large trees and a creek just in front of the tee box.

This par 3 features a tee box overlooking one of The Wilds signature ponds (and home to a number of course residents, including ducks and beavers). A large green awaits you in this picturesque 15th hole.

The 16th hole has a reputation among regular golfers of The Wilds, as many foursomes have all lost their tee shots to the dense woods that line the narrow fairway. For those who avoid taking a drop, the difficult green awaits and is more than happy to rob you have your eagle, birdie, or par.

Another signature hole of The Wilds, hole 17 is a dogleg right that features water hazards on either side of the fairway. Confident golfers can attempt to dissect the line of established trees in hopes of making the green in one, while conservative golfers are rewarded with the beautiful scenery surrounding the fairway.

Your round finishes with another jewel of The Wilds. Much like hole 9, the 18th hole is one of the most challenging greens on the course. Experienced golfers of the course understand how pin placement drastically alters this hole, as the sloping green can wreak havoc with misplaced tee shots. Thankfully, the newly renovated clubhouse awaits you to celebrate (or mourn) your final score.

Among the Most Beautiful of Barrie’s Par 3 Golf Courses

In 2005, we began an aggressive rebuilding phase, updating our irrigation system and fertilization program in order to build upon the maturity of the course. Most of the greens and tee decks have been rebuilt in the process, adding to the enjoyment of your game. With the addition of a beautiful screened timber pavilion in 2013 and a full banquet kitchen, The Wilds is an ideal location for your corporate or fund-raising tournament. The Wilds is also a unique site for business meetings, events and weddings.

The Wilds at Cedar Valley has a Golf League for Everyone. The Wilds hosts Monday Night Ladies’ League and Thursday Night Men’s League, as well as many special events throughout the summer.
